Signalist vs. Leadfeeder (formerly Dealfront): Which One Actually Fills Your Pipeline?

Leadfeeder identifies visiting companies. Signalist identifies the actual people and sends the outreach — see how the two approaches to pipeline fit together.

Leadfeeder identifies visiting companies. Signalist identifies and contacts the actual people.

Leadfeeder — the product most people still know as Dealfront — enriches company website visits with European firmographic data. Signalist goes further: it identifies which people are showing buying intent right now, across six signal types, and turns that into a message in their inbox.

(Naming note: Leadfeeder was rebranded to Dealfront in 2023 after merging with Echobot, then reverted to the Leadfeeder name in March 2026. Same product, same team — this page uses "Leadfeeder" throughout since that's the current name.)

What Leadfeeder does well

Leadfeeder earned its reputation for good reason. It was one of the first tools to de-anonymize website traffic, and the current platform — built from the 2023 merger with Echobot's German B2B data engine — is a genuinely strong European data product: company-level visitor identification down to which pages were viewed and for how long, a large EU company and contact database (60M+ companies, 400M+ contacts by vendor count) with particular depth in DACH, Nordics, and Benelux, CRM data hygiene tooling, and native integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Dynamics.

Signalist gets compared to Leadfeeder regularly for good reason, given how much EU/GDPR positioning the two share.

Where the lines actually blur

Worth being upfront rather than overstating the gap: Leadfeeder isn't a single-purpose tool anymore. Since the Echobot merger, it also offers prospecting and CRM data hygiene modules, so "just a visitor-ID tool" undersells where the product has gone. Signalist isn't purely a "beyond website visitors" tool either — website visitor tracking is genuinely one of its six signal types, so it's not something Leadfeeder does uniquely.

Where the gap actually is

Leadfeeder identifies the company, not the person. Its visitor ID surfaces "Acme GmbH visited your pricing page" — it doesn't identify which person at Acme GmbH did, their role, or how to reach them. Signalist's AI research agent closes that gap on the signals it tracks.

Leadfeeder sees one kind of signal. A prospect who's never visited your site can still be showing clear intent elsewhere — engaging with content on LinkedIn, posting about newly available budget, attending a relevant conference, or hiring for a role your product supports. Leadfeeder's modules don't cover any of that. Signalist tracks all of it — LinkedIn engagement, open jobs, job changes, events, Google Maps data, and website visitors — as one connected layer.

Outreach is a separate step with Leadfeeder. Once it identifies who's interested, sending the message happens in whatever email or LinkedIn tool sits alongside it. Signalist's list-building and outbound automation are part of the same system the signal came from.

When Leadfeeder is the better fit

If website visitor identification is genuinely your main gap, you already have a sequencer or outreach tool you're happy with, and you specifically want CRM data hygiene bundled in — Leadfeeder's combined modules are a strong, direct fit. Signalist doesn't do CRM cleanup, so if that's a real priority alongside visitor ID, this is a legitimate reason to choose Leadfeeder over adding a separate signal layer.

FAQ

:::expand[Is Leadfeeder the same as Dealfront?] Yes. Leadfeeder merged with Echobot in 2023 and the combined company was rebranded Dealfront. In March 2026, the company reverted to the Leadfeeder name — the product and underlying data are unchanged, only the branding shifted back. :::

:::expand[Does Leadfeeder tell you who at a company visited your site?] No. It identifies the visiting company, not the individual — a separate contact-discovery step is needed to identify and reach the actual person. :::

:::expand[Can Leadfeeder send outreach automatically?] Not natively. It identifies and enriches leads; sending emails or LinkedIn messages requires a separate sequencing tool. :::

:::expand[What signals does Signalist track that Leadfeeder doesn't?] LinkedIn engagement, open job postings, job changes, and conference/event attendance — none of which are visible from website traffic alone. :::
